In Paraffin, a female figure is shown pouring molten wax (whose furious red is in inspired by a charging soldier holding a trumpet in the work, “The Battle of Lepanto,” by Juan Luna) as she herself slowly liquifies. The act is one of self-immolation, indicative of how consuming it is to be always right.
